There is a fundamental truth about love which is often times simply disregarded. It is a self-concealing truth: it is not given due attention because it asks us to look at a smokescreen – many times easily confused with a more ‘authentic’ notion of love. This truth is that, especially in the technological age,
Love is becoming more of an ideal and less of an idea
When the fictions in our minds take over our eyes, there is bound to be a dissonance which, if not addressed in the proper way, will in the end result in a breakdown. It could be personal, it could be in a relationship – or it would be both. I reckon that in final analysis, a situation ought to be addressed squarely, taking into consideration everything. It is not easy, but that is what love might be all about, after all. Not holding on no matter what, but adapting to the situation, together. Facing the world back-to-back.
This too could be an ideal, but it is one well worth pursuing.
